A study here means every well that met the criteria, rebuilt from the state's own filings, with the wells that did not fit reported rather than dropped. One was written by hand over weeks. The rest are rebuilt by the pipeline every time the store is, and say so.
Every producing horizontal oil well in Converse County, rebuilt from the state's records and fitted to outturn. Proppant per well rose twenty-nine fold in thirteen years. Within a single year, doubling the sand buys about a fifth more oil, and the last increment earns eight cents on the dollar. Three completion years show no gain at all.
2108 horizontal oil wells in the region carry a filed proppant mass and a sound oil fit, all of them in Wyoming. The median well completed in 2011 took 2.34 million lb; in 2024, 25.17 million lb.
36467 wells in the region carry a filed elevation and sit on the measured grid. The median well is -9.5 m off the ground; 7566 wells, 20.7% of them, are more than 100 m off, and 5595 of those are filed below the ground rather than above it. The commonest thing the numbers support: shared with at least three neighbours: systematic over the area (6984 wells).
These are written by the pipeline, not by hand. Each time the store is rebuilt the study runs again over the whole population, and the page shows the numbers it produced that day, with its method and the things it cannot show. They are reporting work rather than opinion, which is the only kind this site publishes while the licensing questions are open. The data page says what stands behind them and where the coverage runs out.
How much of a horizontal lateral actually lies under a given section, computed from the filed surveys rather than taken from a division order. And what the record says about wells completed lightly beside neighbours completed four or five times harder, which the section screen can already find.
The findings are shorter and different in kind: eight ways a production model goes quietly wrong, each argued from this work rather than from a textbook. They are not studies and are not presented as any.
